The Duke and Duchess of Gloucester joined the King, Queen and Princess Anne at a Buckingham Palace reception celebrating exceptional individuals and organisations helping to tackle crises worldwide.
Presenters Myleene Klass and Fern Britton also attended, as they were lauded for their humanitarian work.
Luther and Jane Eyre actress Ruth Wilson, 43, was also included in the reception inside the lavish State Ballroom.
The event also marked key anniversaries for charities International Health Partners, ShelterBox, Islamic Relief Worldwide, and Christian Aid.
Charles, 76, chatted to Classic FM presenter and Save the Children ambassador Myleene, 46. She said: “I told the King that, as the daughter of a Royal Navy veteran, I understand service and resilience. I’ve seen first-hand how humanitarian work brings hope to children in crisis.”
Ex-breakfast TV host Fern, 67, works with ShelterBox to bring emergency refuge, water and blankets to disaster-hit families.
Photographs showing the work of the four humanitarian organisations were displayed inside the room for guests to view.
These included 15 images from the Disasters Emergency Committee (DEC) highlighting relief efforts in Afghanistan, Ukraine, Pakistan, Turkey-Syria, Sudan, and Gaza.
With three million people aided by ShelterBox, 100 million lives improved by International Health Partners, and millions more helped by Islamic Relief and Christian Aid, the event reaffirmed the King and Queen’s support for those on the frontline of global crises.
