Princess Leonor of Asturias and Infanta Sofia of Spain have been the royal stars of the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris so far and they continued their whirlwind tour of the games on Monday.
On Day 3 of the Paris Olympics, the Spanish princesses made their way to even more Olympic events.
Unfortunately, both the Spanish men’s and women’s beach volleyball teams lost their matches on Monday but Leonor and Sofia continued to cheer on their teams and enjoy the good weather.
They also headed to the Grand Palais to take in some of the men’s and women’s fencing competition. The Grand Palais remains one of the most popular venues of the Paris games, along with the Palace of Versailles.
Finally, they were able to cheer on the men’s handball team who unfortunately lost.
The Spanish Royal Family shared a Reel on Instagram where Leonor and Sofia visited the Olympic Village and tour the Spanish base for the games and get to see what life is like for athletes in the Village.
The Spanish princesses are really shining in their new unofficial ambassador roles. They are both happy to chat with athletes, staff, volunteers, and visitors and have posed for selfies with Spanish visitors. Although their parents, King Felipe and Queen Letizia, are back in Spain, Princess Leonor and Infanta Sofia are easily holding down the Olympic fort for the family.
