Lady Gabriella Windsor makes rare appearance alongside key royals | Royal | News

Lady Gabriella Windsor made a rare public appearance this week after she joined other members of the Royal Family at Royal Ascot. Prince and Princess Michael of Kent’s daughter attended Day Two of Royal Ascot on Wednesday and was seen sharing a sweet moment with Zara Tindalal in the royal box as the races went on.

The widow of Thomas Kingston, who died of self-inflicted gunshot wounds following “an adverse reaction to medication” last year in February, looked stunning in a blue Catherine Walker coat dress, which she paired with a colour-matching hat by Philip Treacy. Lady Gabriella, who is not a working royal, was snapped kissing Zara Tindall, as she was joined in the royal box by the likes of the King and Queen, the Prince of Wales and the Princess of Wales’s family.

Princess Kate missed Royal Ascot for the second successive year as she sought the right balance following her cancer treatment.

Kate was said to have been disappointed not to join husband William and the King and Queen at the famous sporting and social event in Berkshire.

The princess has been making a gradual return to public duties since it was announced in January that she was in remission from cancer.

It is understood Kate is trying to find the right balance as she fully returns to public-facing engagements that have featured an element of flexibility since her cancer diagnosis.

It is not clear when the princess made the decision not to join the royals at the races.

The princess is unlikely to appear during the remaining days of the five-day racing meet, which ends on Saturday.

Among the royals at the famous race course were the Princess Royal and Vice Admiral Sir Tim Laurence, the Duke and Duchess of Edinburgh and Zara and Mike Tindall.
