King Felipe lands in the Dominican Republic ahead of important meeting – Royal Central


The Spanish King recently arrived in the Dominican Republic to attend an important meeting with representatives from other Spanish-speaking nations.

King Felipe will attend a meeting that focuses on topics such as politics, economics and security and is an important opportunity to discuss the challenges and opportunities that characterise these areas. The XXVIII Ibero-American Summit brings together heads of state and government to discuss such topics.

Upon landing at Las Americas International Airport, the King was greeted with a Guard of Honour by the Vice Minister of Bilateral Foreign Policy of the Dominican Republic and the Spanish Ambassador.

On this journey, His Majesty is accompanied by the Spanish Minister of Foreign Affairs, European Union, and Cooperation and the Secretary of State for Ibero-America, the Caribbean and Spanish-speaking nations in the World.

King Felipe will play a central role in the meeting and contribute his expertise and experience to find solutions to the most important questions being discussed. Together, the participants will work to strengthen cooperation between the various Spanish-speaking nations and to create a more stable and safe future for the region.

King Felipe will also hold bilateral meetings with the President of Uruguay and the President of the Dominican Republic, attend an event on the Ibero-American Program for the Rights of Persons with Disabilities, participate in the Ibero-American Business Meeting, attend the opening ceremony and the subsequent dinner. The King of Spain will have breakfast with Central American heads of state and attend the sessions of the summit throughout the day on Saturday.
