King Charles III is seen playing the doting dad and sharing an adorable moment with a young Prince Harry after 29-year-old footage of the father and son resurfaced on TikTok.

In 1994, then-Prince Charles collaborated with an official biography and filmed a documentary with its author Jonathan Dimbleby, titled: Charles: The Private Man, the Public Role

The documentary included scenes with his two sons Harry and Prince William, as well as his attitudes toward co-parenting with Princess Diana, whom he had separated from two years earlier.

A clip uploaded to TikTok by user ab0ut_r0yals has now gone viral, showing footage of a young Harry being injured during a football match at the Royal Family’s Balmoral estate in Scotland.

Charles is seen comforting his son, which has been viewed more than 100,000 times while putting an arm around the youngster, and stroking his nose after the prince appeared to have injured his face.

In the 1994 interview, watched by a reported audience of 13 million people, Dimbleby asked Charles if he enjoyed spending time with Harry and William.

The future King replied: “Of course I do. And they like being with me.

“But what is marvellous is to see them develop and start to get good at certain things and develop interests and all that. It gives me enormous pleasure and satisfaction and pride.”

But today, Charles and Harry have a more distant relationship after the Duke of Sussex made a number of claims against the Royal institution. He stepped back from his role as a senior working royal three-and-a-half years ago with Meghan Markle.

Harry’s tell-all memoir, Spare, saw the prince make arguably his most controversial claims, with Charles’s parenting skills and attitudes as a father put under the spotlight.

In one section of the book, Harry claims his father found physical intimacy difficult with his children and that he didn’t hug his son when the tragic news broke of Princess Diana’s death in a car crash in 1997.

Charles never publicly responded to any of the claims made by his youngest son in Spare, in line with the silent approach that has traditionally been adopted by the wider Royal Family.

The Duke of Sussex flew to the UK for the Coronation of King Charles earlier this year and there were hopes of renewed close ties.

But Harry cut a distant figure, viewing the ceremony from three rows back in Westminster Abbey, and seemingly making a sharp exit immediately afterward to return home to California on the same day as his son Prince Archie’s fourth birthday.

He again returned to the UK last month to attend the WellChild Awards in London and stayed on to mark the first anniversary of the Queen’s passing, but it is once again understood that he did not meet his father.
