Buckingham Palace has announced that King Charles and Queen Camilla will host an incoming State Visit in early December.
The King and Queen will be hosting The Emir of the State of Qatar, His Highness Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani and his first wife, Her Highness Sheikha Jawaher bint Hamad bin Suhaim Al Thanki from Tuesday, 3 December to Wednesday 4 December.
The Amir and his wife attended King Charles and Queen Camilla’s May 2023 coronation at Westminster Abbey. He also attended the Royal Military Academy Sandhurst.
The King last met the Amir in December 2023 at the 2023 United Nations Climate Change Conference, known as COP28, when it was held in Dubai.
King Charles has hosted three incoming State Visits during his reign so far. He first hosted South African President Cyril Ramaphosa in November 2022 for a three day state visit. He hosted South Korean President Yoon Suk Yeol and his wife, Kim Keon-hee, in November 2023. In 2024, he hosted Emperor Naruhito and Empress Masako of Japan in June.
King Charles has maintained a busy schedule in 2024 following an announcement in early February that he was undergoing cancer treatment.
From 18 October to 26 October, The King and Queen will be in Australia and Samoa.
