King Charles returns from Romania break for Coronation celebration – Royal Central

King Charles III has returned from a brief holiday in Romania and headed straight to a Coronation celebration.

Exactly one month after being crowned in Westminster Abbey, The King was at the Church of St. James in central London for a concert marking the Coronation.

The special evening of music featured all four of Handel’s Coronation anthems as well as his Dettingen Te Deum.

It was part of the new Wigmore Hall concert series at the church.

St. James’ Catholic Church is celebrated for its Gothic architecture and was packed for the concert.

The King enjoyed the evening of music just hours after returning from a visit to Romania where he owns a private home.

His Majesty arrived in Bucharest on June 2nd 2023 where he was formally welcomed by President Klaus Iohannis at the Cotroceni Palace.

After that, he spent time privately, walking and enjoying the countryside. However, he was often greeted by small crowds who presented him with flowers and other gifts, including honey.

This was King Charles III’s first overseas visit since the Coronation.
