The King has said he’s been moved to tears by the flood of cards and messages sent to him since he revealed he has been diagnosed with cancer.

King Charles spoke of how touched he had been by the support shown to him as he held his first in person meeting with Prime Minister, Rishi Sunak, since the announcement.

His Majesty said ”I’ve had so many wonderful messages and cards…it’s reduced me to tears most of the time.”

The Prime Minister told The King that ”we’re behind you, the country’s behind you” as they met at Buckingham Palace.

Rishi Sunak also said to King Charles that he was looking well, to which the Monarch replied ”it’s all done by mirrors”.

The King also spoke of how many others had sought support for health issues as a spotlight was shone on the work done by so many cancer charities.

Earlier, The King had held an in person meeting of the Privy Council.

His Majesty has cut his face to face engagements since his diagnosis on doctor’s advice as he continues cancer treatment.
