King Charles has made an urgent demand after three British military heroes were killed while delivering humanitarian aid in war-torn Gaza.

The 75-year-old monarch, who has taken a step back from royal duties after being diagnosed with cancer, has asked that he is kept in the loop about any developments after the deaths of James Kirby, John Chapman and James Henderson.

Foreign office staff stationed in the Middle East received a request directly from the King, who is head of the Armed Forces, after the tragic news came to light yesterday morning, MailOnline reports.

Charles is also the Captain General of the Royal Marines, the elite unit in which two of the victims served – John Chapman, 57, former SBS hero and 33-year-old James Henderson, an ex-Royal Marine. The third victim was 47-year-old James Kirby, a former Rifleman.

It has come as no surprise to royal experts and commentators that the King has taken the news to heart, given his history with the military and British Armed Forces.

Ingrid Seward, Editor in Chief of Majesty Magazine, praised the monarch. She said: “These are the actions of a caring monarch, as head of state, head of the Armed Forces and Captain General of the Royal Marines.”
