Kensington Palace have released a behind-the-scenes video of Prince Louis’ birthday picture, which was taken in Norfolk earlier this month. As peaceful piano music plays in the background, Louis runs up to the camera and puts his face right up close, showing off his two missing front teeth.
The adorable 25-second video shows the young prince attempting to choreograph the shoot, and tells photographer Josh Shinner: “I can jump down from here.” He is then shown walking along a fallen tree trunk and jumping into the air.
The sweet video was filmed by Kate and William’s in-house social media team and a short statement accompanying the clip says: “Seven today!”
Earlier on Wednesday, a picture was released to mark Louis’ seventh birthday and shows Louis looking all grown up.
In the image, the Prince and Princess of Wales’s youngest child is sitting on a tree trunk against a beautiful spring backdrop, surrounded by bluebells as he casually poses for the photo in the garden of Anmer Hall, the family’s residence on the Sandringham Estate.
The fourth in line to the throne, who is known for his cheeky antics on the Palace balcony, is wearing an open-necked checked shirt, dark green jumper, blue jeans.
The picture was accompanied by the message: “Wishing Prince Louis a very Happy 7th Birthday!” followed by a cake emoji.
Josh Shinner took the new portrait, who has taken pictures of the Wales family before, including their modern 2023 Christmas card that was released in black and white.
William and Kate spent Easter in Norfolk, where the photo was taken, staying at their family home on the Sandringham Estate, Anmer Hall.
They attended a church service at St Mary Magdalene Church on Sunday, instead of heading to Windsor for the traditional Easter Mattins service with other members of the Royal Family.
The family of five is understood to be back home in Windsor now, as today marks the start of the new school term. Prince George, 11, Princess Charlotte, nine, and Louis attend nearby Lambrook School.
