The Royal Family will be getting into the holiday spirit soon! They will decorate two royal residences this holiday season for visitors to enjoy in England and Scotland.

The Royal Collection Trust has announced the holiday season themes for Windsor Castle in Windsor and the Palace of Holyroodhouse in Edinburgh.

Windsor Castle’s Christmas display will be open to visitors from 30 November 2023 to 1 January 2024. This holiday display is celebrating the 675th anniversary of the Order of the Garter. The Order was founded at Windsor and is the oldest chivalric order in Great Britain.

Guests at Windsor will be treated to a 20-foot Norman Fir tree topped with a specially made Garter star as a nod to the Order in St. George’s Hall. The tree will also feature Coronation-themed baubles and decorations in honour of Their Majesties’s coronation in May. There will also be a Garter-themed tree in the Crimson Drawing Room.

The Palace of Holyroodhouse’s seasonal display will be open from 23 November 2023 to 1 January 2024. The Throne Room will also have a decorated Norman Fir tree, and the two fireplaces will also have festive decorations.

There will be garlands and wreaths on the Great Stair that take visitors to the State Apartments; there will also be festive greenery hung throughout the palace so that visitors can see them from the forecourt.
