King Juan Carlos is reportedly about to publish his memoirs.
Point de Vue magazine says that the king, who ruled Spain for almost forty years before abdicating and going into exile in disgrace, could have his version of his story on the shelves by early 2025.
Juan Carlos I is said to have signed with French publishers for a 500 page book, provisionally called Reconciliation.
However, given the controversies that have surrounded the king for over a decade, its title is already raising eyebrows.
The book is said to cover the dramatic life of Juan Carlos from his birth, in exile in Rome, to his restoration of the Spanish monarchy and his fall from grace.
The report of the memoirs isn’t the first fresh controversy to surround Juan Carlos in recent days. It’s was reported by El Confidencial that the king has created a special foundation that will support social projects but which will also allow him to move his financial assets to the United Arab Emirates where he has lived since 2020.
King Juan Carlos has had a strained relationship with his only son and his successor, King Felipe VI, for several years. The two have been together recently, with Juan Carlos returning to Spain for a family funeral. But future meetings have been thrown into further question by reports of a book that it’s reported will be written ”with an open heart”.
