EVER wonder how the Princess of Wales manages to look photogenic in every single picture?

You never see her grimacing or accidentally wrinkling up her forehead.

Now Fabulous has spoken to a professional photographer who has revealed Kate has some subtle tricks which help her look picture-perfect.

But, like all good things, they do take some practice.

Photographer Olivia West told Fabulous that it’s all down to how the royal mum “positions her chin” and “holds her arms”.

Here are four posing rules Kate always follows…

1. Sticks her chin out when smiling

The Princess of Wales manages to light up any public event with her regal smile, and has a trick for not doing a “chinny grin.”

Olivia explained: “Kate always does the ‘out and down’ with the chin which makes your face look much better.

“Most people bring their chin back when they smile causing a kind of chinny grin which isn’t flattering.

“I always tell people to imagine they are looking over a fence, you slide your chin over then just dip the chin – you can’t pull it back because the fence is in the way.”

Royal style expert Miranda Holder claimed that Kate has been “trained to always keep her chin parallel to the ground.”

The fashion pro added: “She doesn’t tilt it down, she doesn’t tilt it up, and that ensures a flattering photograph every single time.”

2. Holds arms out for a ‘slimming’ effect

During public engagement, Kate often has to be on her feet – and stylish stilettos – for an extended period of time.

Thankfully the royal mum-of-three has perfected the way she stands so she always looks polished.

The professional photographer continued: “When she is standing she often holds her arms in front of her waist.

“This makes a gap between her arms and body which shows off her svelte figure and is a very slimming pose.”

3. Only waves from the elbow

When they are out in public, the royals often showcase their “royal waves”, with Prince Louis’ adorable greeting stealing the show at the Coronation.

While there is a danger of looking too informal during the act, Kate has a strategy for looking refined at all times.

The photographer observed that Kate doesn’t move her entire arm when she acknowledges the public.

Olivia explained: “Even when she is waving she only moves the arm from the elbow.”

4. Keeps her shoulders down when smiling

Kate also has a simple trick for keeping her stance looking elegant when she is smiling at an event.

Olivia advised: “She keeps her shoulders down where a lot of people raise them when smiling.”

So there we have it – if you are ever wanting to not look awkward in photos, these tips could be worth a try.

If they’re good enough for Kate…
