Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis set a Coronation style statement of their own – Royal Central

Two of the youngest members of the Royal Family shared in the spotlight at their grandfather’s coronation, sparking their own fashion moments.

Princess Charlotte was her mother’s mini-me in terms of design. Both her dress and her floral headpiece were designed by the same designers: Alexander McQueen and Jess Collett x Alexander McQueen, respectively.

The young princess—who turned eight earlier in the week—wore an ivory silk dress and cape that had the floral emblems of the United Kingdom satin-stitched onto it.

Her floral headpiece was a smaller version of Catherine’s headpiece and featured the same detailing with silver bullion, silver thread work, and crystal work.

Prince Louis, meanwhile, sported a miniature uniform, of sorts, based on the Hainsworth Garter Blue Doeskin Tunic. His black pants also featured Garter Blue stripes; and the tunic featured lace embellishments on the collar, cuffs and fronts.

The young prince, who turned five on 23 April, stayed for a majority of the coronation ceremony. He disappeared towards the end with Nanny Maria, but returned in time for the departure at Westminster Abbey and the carriage procession back to Buckingham Palace, where he could be spotted singing and chatting with his family.

Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis accompanied their parents, the Prince and Princess of Wales, at the coronation of King Charles III and Queen Camilla. Their older brother, Prince George, attended the King as a page of honour, and was seated separately from the rest of the family.

As previously reported, Catherine’s gown and headpiece were ‘adult’ versions of Princess Charlotte’s outfit. She also wore the Mantle of the Dame Grand Cross of the Royal Victorian Order and jewellery significant to both the late Queen Elizabeth II and the late Diana, Princess of Wales.

The Prince of Wales wore ceremonial dress from the Welsh Guards, of which he is Royal Colonel, over the Mantle of the Order of the Garter.
