HAVE you ever wondered how Kate Middleton and Meghan Markle manage to dazzle on heels all day long?

It turns out they have a number of secret tricks that help with sky-high stilettos – but you may wish to think twice before trying them.

It turns out that Kate and Meghan often wear shoes that are half or one size too big to prevent getting blisters – and they also add a secret item inside their shoes too.

Royal style expert Miranda Holder explained in a video: “There is a little style hack, and she [Kate] uses very special insoles.

“She and Natasha Archer, her stylist and friend, have searched high and low and trialled a whole load of them, and the very best that work for Kate are by a company called Alice Bow.”

Meanwhile, to prevent their larger shoes slipping off, Kate and Meghan are said to use silicone pads or sticky tape.

While these hacks may seem like game-changers for heel-lovers, experts have warned against always reaching for leg-lengthening stilettos, such as Meg’s favourite £490 Aquazzura pumps.

Podiatrist Hiren Patel, from Flawless Feet, told Fabulous: “Any heel higher than three to four cm it’s going to damage your feet in the long term.

“When we wear high heels we increase the weight in our forefoot, that overload causes pain and damage on the structures of your foot.

“If you wear high heels on a regular basis and you have pain, the best thing to do would be mixing up the shoes that you wear.

Hiren advised that instead of towering heels, it is better to opt for shoes with “ankle straps”, a rounded shape instead of pointy one, and a “platform heel to reduce the height of the heel.”

Hiren, who is opening a podiatry clinic in Harvey Nichols, also advised: “Wearing silicone inserts will promote shock absorption and ultimately reduce pain.

“I’m sure Kate and Meghan do a lot of stretches in their feet, calves and hamstrings before and after wearing them, which will allow them to reduce the tension in their legs and feet and in turn increase the mobility in the legs which will allow them to wear them longer.”

While we are unlikely to see the two glamorous stars ditch their stilettos anytime soon, at least their insoles hack will help to protect their royal feet.
