King Charles III has been given a warm welcome to Romania as he begins a private stay in the country.

As His Majesty arrived in Zalan Valley, where he has a home, he was greeted with kisses and curtsies as well as a gift of honey.

Many of his neighbours turned out to say hello as he arrived for his break. They were clearly pleased to see him with several kissing the king on both cheeks as they said hello.

King Charles III looked thrilled with the warm welcome. He will spend some time at one of his holiday homes there, his first overseas trip since the Coronation on May 6th 2023.

His Majesty arrived in Romania at the start of June when he was given an official welcome in Bucharest.
