Funeral of Crown Princess Cecilie, 1954


Royal Guests and Relatives from around Germany gathered for the Funeral of Crown Princess Cecilie of Prussia at Burg Hohenzollern on this day in 1954, 70 years ago.

THE COFFIN OF CROWN PRINCESS CECILIE IS LOWERED INTO ITS GRAVE: Members of the Hohenzollern family and other Royal mourners stand by as the coffin, draped with the Imperial flag of Prussia, is placed into position.

THE FUNERAL PROCESSION AT A HOHENZOLLERN CASTLE. Foresters of the Hohenzollern family accompany the coffin of  Crown Princess Cecilie in the private cemetery in the castle at Hechingen on the family estates. The funeral was attended by some 400 people and included many representatives of German and other European royalty.
