SHE famously performed at the reception of the Prince and Princess of Wales’ wedding in 2011.
And now Ellie Goulding is throwing her weight behind The King’s upcoming coronation.
During an exclusive interview as she drops her new single Miracle with Calvin Harris, the Love Me Like You Do singer has urged the nation to get behind the monarch.
Ellie, 36, said: “I think the Coronation is a thing to be celebrated.
“It’s been a difficult year in many ways, and I think a lot of people were surprised by how effected they were by the Queen’s passing.
“It’s nice to have something to look forward to.
“We should be proud of British music, and I’m sure the line-up will be incredible.”
Her public support for our new King and Queen comes amid reports Buckingham Palace are struggling to book singers for the The Coronation Concert at Winsor Castle.
Organisers have promised the gig “will bring global music icons and contemporary stars together in celebration of the historic occasion”.
Like The King who has spent his life advocating against climate change, Ellie is determined to live as greener life as possible.
She tells The Sun she’s been inspired by Coldplay’s recent Music of the Spheres World Tour which off set as much of it’s carbon footprint as possible for her own upcoming tour.
Coldplay’s stadium tour included electricity partly powered by fan rode kinetic bikes and the planting of trees.
Ellie explained: “Touring has such a huge carbon footprint. It’s so important for me, and other artists to try and do as much as possible to reduce it.
“Venues often still don’t cater to this, which I don’t think is setting a good enough example.
Artists, venues, promoters and agents should all work together to be as green as possible.
“We have to set the precedent for the next generation of performers.”
For their new single, their third collaboration, Ellie and Calvin have taking things back to the 90s with a 90s trance smasher.
“This one came slightly out of the blue,” Ellie explained.
“He said that he had the track and immediately thought of me for it.
Calvin doesn’t like to mess around so he sent the song in the next message
“I accidentally played it a bit too cool and didn’t reply for a few days so he thought I wasn’t into it.
“We recorded the vocal in January. We both think it’s really important to be in the same room when making music.
“I didn’t feel any pressure because both of us are at a point in our careers where we can put out stuff that we love, and is authentic to us.”
Despite dropping a monster of a club banger, Ellie has revealed for the first time she’s working on a classical album and hopes to transition into penning musical scores for films.
Ellie said: “I’m always writing new music.
“I think my natural state is to always come up with ideas and I’ll get in the studio at some point.
“Since I wrote [upcoming album] Higher Than Heaven a while ago during lockdown, I’m very ready to write new music.
“I’ve always wanted to compose music for films, so at the moment I’m focusing on more classical.
“I have a half finished classical album that I look forward to releasing at some point.”
