The Duchess of Sussex has said she cannot wait to one day bring her children to the Invictus Games as she addressed athletes, their friends and relatives just two hours after landing in Germany.

Meghan, 42, landed in Düsseldorf late on Tuesday afternoon, having flown from Los Angeles via London.

Whisked from the airport to her hotel, she had a rapid turnaround, getting ready in less than an hour before re-emerging alongside Prince Harry, 38, to attend a private party for all Invictus teams and their supporters.

Wearing a black Banana Republic dress, a second hand Bottega Veneta belt and a coloured bracelet given to her by a member of the Canadian team, the Duchess spoke off the cuff as she addressed the 1,600 people gathered at a conference centre at the airport.

She apologised for being “a little late to the party”, but explained that she had stayed at home in California to “settle” the children, Prince Archie, four, and Princess Lilibet, two, before flying out to join her husband.
