David and Victoria Beckham have reportedly been “blindsided” by the news that their eldest son Brooklyn has been socialising with Prince Harry and Meghan Markle – a couple they were once friends with. As reported by The Sun, Brooklyn, 26, and his wife Nicola Peltz, 30, attended the same dinner party as the Duke and Duchess of Sussex in Montecito after reports that Brooklyn had fallen out with his parents.
This is said to have left David and Victoria feeling “blindsided” as they were once friends with Harry, 40, and Meghan, 43, even offering them use of their Beverly Hills home to escape the paparazzi. However, this friendship crumbled when stories of their generosity towards the duke and duchess were leaked to the press, with Meghan accusing Victoria of this – claims the fashion designer has denied.
Now, an inside source has revealed to The Sun that David and Victoria will most likely have one “fear” about Meghan if she continues socialising with their son and daughter-in-law, especially as the Beckham family are reportedly experiencing some tensions at the moment.
An insider has told The Sun: “David and Victoria were blindsided by the news — they didn’t see it coming.
“Of course it’s a bit weird for them as they used to socialise with Meghan and Harry, and now their boy is doing it.”
The source said: “The last thing they need is for her (Meghan) to be pouring bile into Brooklyn’s ear, telling him to cast his parents out, as she has done with her own dad.”
While The Sun yesterday said the dinner attended by Brooklyn and his wife was held at Harry and Meghan’s house, this is now not believed to be the case.
As reported by Katie Hind in The Daily Mail, the dinner was reportedly not even hosted by Meghan and Harry, and instead was a much larger gathering hosted by Brian Robbins, 61, the CEO of television giant Paramount and Nickelodeon, and his wife Tracy, 49, who are neighbours of the duke and duchess in Montecito.
The insider said that there were more than 20 people at the party, with Brian reportedly having been the one to invite Brooklyn and Nicola.
It is also believed that the duke and duchess spoke very little to Brooklyn and Nicola at the gathering, but were “kind” to them.
