Crown Princess Victoria wraps up successful California visit – Royal Central

Crown Princess Victoria and Prince Daniel wrapped up a successful visit to California on Thursday.

The last two days of their visit were jam-packed with engagements related to technology and green transition.

Crown Princess Victoria and Prince Daniel began Wednesday in Palo Alto, a hub of technology within California, and paid visits to Nvidia, Intel, and Google to learn more about advancements in artificial intelligence. Later, they visited Stanford University to attend a lecture on the ethics behind AI.

On Thursday, the royal couple attended a breakfast seminar at the Nordic Innovation House in Palo Alta to discuss cooperation between California and Sweden.

Later, they took part in the Green Transition Summit to meet with academics, politicians, business leaders, and industry leaders to discuss ways to cooperate on a green transition.

Crown Princess Victoria gave a speech at the Summit, telling those gathered that, “Working together to accelerate the green transition and move towards a sustainable and secure future is not only important—it is of the utmost necessity. It is the greatest challenge of our time.”

She added: “During our days here we have once again seen firsthand that the United States and Sweden are world-leading innovators, and it is by embracing the opportunities we’re given that we will secure our future global competitiveness.”

Summing up their royal visit, Crown Princess Victoria said, “I am pleased that Sweden and the United States, and Sweden and the State of California, continue to strengthen our partnerships. It is essential that our governments in close collaboration with business stakeholders, academia and civil society continue to promote green solutions.”

Crown Princess Victoria and Prince Daniel were in California between Monday and Thursday in a visit focused on green transition, artificial intelligence developments and cooperation between California and Sweden.
