Happy Birthday to Crown Princess Marie-Chantal of Greece, who turns 55 today! The Miller Heiress who is a successful Businesswoman married to the Head of the former Greek Royal Family, Crown Princess Marie-Chantal has worn several splendid Royal Heirlooms as well as some spectacular modern jewels, which includes today’s Diamond Earrings!

A pair of spectacular Diamond Earrings each consisting of a diamond cluster, from which is suspended a brilliant diamond, then a large marquise-cut diamond, then another brilliant, and finally and large pear-shaped diamond. While they could have been a gift at the time of her Wedding of Crown Prince Pavlos of Greece in 1995, it is more likely that the Diamond Earrings were given to Crown Princess Marie-Chantal to mark the Birth and Christening of her second child and eldest son, Prince Constantine Alexios of Greece, in 1999.

To discount our theory, Crown Princess Marie-Chantal may have worn a shorter version of these Diamond Earrings for King Carl XVI Gustaf of Sweden’s 50th Birthday Gala in 1996, though it is not entirely clear.

Crown Princess Marie-Chantal debuted the full striking Diamond Earrings at Princess Alexia’s Pre-Wedding Dinner at Bridgewater House in London 1999.

In 2001, the Diamond Earrings were worn by Crown Princess Marie-Chantal for a Gala Dinner held at Syon House in London, to mark the Christening of her third child and second son, Prince Achileas-Andreas of Greece and Denmark.

The most memorable appearance of the spectacular Diamond Earrings came in 2014, when Crown Princess Marie-Chantal paired them with a borrowed modern Diamond Tiara for the Wedding of Crown Prince Frederik of Denmark, a first cousin of Crown Prince Pavlos.

After Crown Princess Marie-Chantal acquired her JAR Earrings, these Diamond Earrings were not worn for almost a decade, until they appeared at King Constantine and Queen Anne Marie’s Golden Wedding Anniversary Dinner in Athens in 2014. Lets hope we see these splendid jewels worn again soon!
