Like Queen Alexandrine’s Fringe Tiaraand the Diamond Meander, the Sapphire Clasp of this two-strand Pearl Necklace likely originates with Queen Alexandrine of Denmark, who was Count Ingolf’s grandmother.
One of the earliest appearances of Countess Sussie wearing the Pearl Necklace with the Sapphire Clasp came in 2000, when it was paired with Queen Alexandrine’s Fringe Tiara for Queen Margrethe’s 60th Birthday Gala.
A few years later, Countess Sussie paired the Pearl Necklace with the Sapphire Clasp with Queen Alexandrine’s Fringe Tiara again for the Wedding of Crown Prince Frederik of Denmark in 2004.
Countess Sussie wore her Pearl Necklace with an antique Diamond Clasp and Queen Alexandrine’s Fringe Tiara for the Wedding of Prince Joachim and Marie Cavallier in 2008.
Countess Sussie paired Queen Alexandrine’s Fringe Tiara with the Pearl Necklace with the Sapphire Clasp for Queen Margrethe’s Ruby Jubilee Banquet at Christiansborg Palace in 2012.
In 2018, Countess Sussie was seen wearing the Pearl Necklace with a Diamond Clasp at a Gala Dinner for the Royal Danish Life Guards.
A few weeks later, Countess Sussie wore the Sapphire Clasp on the Pearl Necklace for the Wedding of her niece, Countess Camilla of Rosenborg, at the Lyngby Kirke.
Most recently, Countess Sussie wore the Pearl Necklace with the Sapphire Clasp paired with a Diamond Bandeau Tiara for Queen Margrethe’s Golden Jubilee Gala at the Danish Royal Theatre in 2022, where we were among the press corps.
