Count Henrik’s Confirmation date revealed – Royal Central

Denmark’s Royal Court has announced the date of Count Henrik’s Confirmation.

Count Henrik, who until January of this year held the title of Prince of Denmark, will be Confirmed at 11 am on 18 May at Frederikskirken – The Danish Church in Paris.

Chaplain-in-Ordinary, Bishop Henrik Wigh-Poulsen will conduct the service will assistance from Frederikskirken’s Minister Malene Bendtsen.

A private celebration will take place afterwards for family and friends.

The choice of a church in Paris was an easy one as he lives with his family in the French capital while his father, Prince Joachim, works as a Military Attaché at the Royal Danish Embassy.

Young Henrik is also half-French – his mother, Princess Marie, was born and raised in France.

The Confirmation will take place a few weeks after Henrik turns 14; his birthday is on 4 May.

Attendees at the Confirmation will be announced at a later date. However, it’s expected that his grandmother, Queen Margrethe, will travel to France, as will his godparents: paternal aunt Crown Princess Mary; maternal uncles Charles Cavallier and Benjamin Grandet; lady-in-waiting of his mother, Britt Davidsen Siesbye and family friend Christian Scherfig.
