Singing superstar Lionel, 73, famed for his silky-smooth delivery, got the crowds on their feet as he belted out his hit tracks Easy (Like Sunday Mornings) and All Night Long.

However, viewers at home couldn’t help but notice something very strange about Lionel’s voice.

One tweeted: “His voice has gone, time to call it a day #LionelRichie.”

“Lionel sounds like a p***ed up dad at a wedding,” a second cheekily posted.

A third asked: “What the hell has happened to Lionel’s voice?”

“The sound is horrific at the concert. Lionel elongated a verse to let the music catch up,” a fourth tweeted.

Another added: “In other news, what has happened to Lionel Richie? Has he died and been replaced? Sounds nothing like him.”

While this person wrote: “Sounds like Shane Richie not Lionel, this is god awful.”

The two-hour spectacular came the day after Charles was crowned as King of the United Kingdom in Westminster Abbey on Saturday.

Millions watched on Sunday night as Take That, Katy Perry, Paloma Faith and more performed in celebration of the King.

There were also appearances from Piers Brosnan and Tom Cruise and a heartfelt speech from Prince William.
