Columbian State Visit to Spain


King Felipe VI and Queen Letizia of Spain are hosting Columbian President Gustavo Francisco Petro and First Lady Verónica Alcocer on a 2-day State Visit to Spain to strengthen political, economic, and diplomatic ties, from May 3rd to the 4th.

In the morning, King Felipe and Queen Letizia officially welcomed President Gustavo Francisco Petro and First Lady Verónica Alcocer in an Official Welcome Ceremony in the courtyard of the Royal Palace in Madrid. During the ceremony, the King and the President reviewed a battalion of the Royal Guard and viewed a parade. 

The Spanish Royal Couple then had a meeting with the President and First Lady and were introduced to the Columbian Delegation. Later, the King and Queen hosted a luncheon at the Palace of La Zarzuela, following a meeting between the King and the President.

 

In the evening, King Felipe and Queen Letizia (wearing the Spanish Floral Tiara and Queen Victoria Eugenie’s Bow Brooch) hosted a State Banquet in honour of the President Gustavo Francisco Petro and First Lady Verónica Alcocer at the Royal Palace of Madrid. Both the King and President gave speeches.
