Good to hear that so many people love Bamburgh, its beaches and its mighty castle (Bamburgh judged UK’s best seaside destination by Which? readers for fourth year, 19 July). But they should also visit the village’s Grace Darling museum, which celebrates the Northumbrian heroine who braved the waves to rescue the crew of the Forfarshire in 1838. A song in her praise inspired the founding of a small but enthusiastic choir named in her honour.
