The Princess of Wales was in sweet talking mode on her latest engagement.

Catherine got to grips with traditional baking and a bit of foraging before chatting about preserve making. And just to wrap up a super sweet day, she left holding hands with her husband.

The loved up walk through a train station came as William and Catherine finished a day out in Wales. They headed to Pontypridd for their first joint engagement since Catherine’s treatment for cancer in 2024.

The focus of the day was the local community after the area was hit by flooding last. year.

During a visit to Meadow Street Community Garden and Woodland, just outside Pontypridd, the Princess shared more details on the new found love of foraging that she and her children have developed. The three youngster were particularly impressed with their mum’s discovery of a huge puffball mushroom.

Meanwhile, Prince William was the proud husband as he told everyone how fabulous he found his wife’s plum jam. Catherine promised to share the recipe with those she met.

The Community Garden and Woodland was among the parts of Pontypridd worst hit by the floods which affected the area in 2024 and the focus of the royal visit was to see how the local area is recovering.

They headed to Pontypridd market to meet traders there and, as it was a William and Catherine event, there was a little bit of competitiveness as they rolled up their sleeves to make bara brith, also called Welsh cakes.

But it appeared the Prince of Wales realised he was already on a losing wicket in this particular game, saying that his batch would need to be sold half price.

The couple met many of the business owners who saw their trade hit by the storms. Enrico Orsi told the BBC that ”William was very empathetic to how it must be for us, juggling the stress of, essentially what is climate change, and the uncertainty of what can happen in the winter here, which we all know.”

The Prince and Princess met another affected trader, Kevin Kidner, at his home where they had tea with him and his wife, Zsusanna.

The visit also included a walkabout where they met plenty of people waving Welsh flags – the trip had been timed for just before St. David’s Day.

And just to finish off a sweet talking day, the Prince and Princess of Wales were later seen walking hand in hand through the train station to make their way home.
