Queen Camilla is said to be “obsessed” with a peculiar yet nutritious snack packed with vitamins.

Along with  King Charles, the 77-year-old leads an incredibly healthy lifestyle. She often spends time in the garden and prepares meals with homegrown ingredients. Her love for gardening has inspired her favourite snack.

During a school visit in Slough, Berkshire, the Queen admitted that she enjoys eating raw peas.

She said: “I tell you what I really like eating peas straight from the garden. If you take them straight from the pod they are delicious and really sweet.

“I take all my grandchildren down to the garden and they spend hours and hours eating peas.”

Peas are known to be rich in vitamins C and E, zinc, and other antioxidants. According to the British Heart Foundation, consuming one serving of peas, beans or pulses daily can reduce your cholesterol levels, reports Gloucestershire Live.

The Queen’s snack isn’t her only healthy food choice. She starts her day with cheesy baked eggs, a protein-rich dish.  Her son Tom Parker-Bowles has also revealed her fondness for scrambled eggs.

When not indulging in eggs, the Queen enjoys porridge with honey.  Her Majesty’s culinary preferences are endearingly traditional, with a penchant for wholesome British fare.

She regularly enjoys robust home-cooked meals. Tom, aged 49, confirmed this. In 2018 he said that the Queen has a taste for chicken casseroles, locally-sourced steaks, cottage pie, baked salmon, and  roast chicken.

For lunch, she gravitates towards fish, salads, almonds, and avocados. The latter has also found favour with the King, at the behest of his physicians and consort, according to an insider.

The Queen’s beverage of choice?  A stately glass of  red wine.  Her familiarity with the drink stretches back to her youth. In a nostalgic musing from 2023, she remarked: “My father was in the wine business so as children we used to take wine and water and I have drunk it ever since.

“He always said it was his medicine and it kept him going – he used to take two or three glasses a day.”
