Buckingham Palace has criticised “intrusive” and “insensitive” books created by Artificial Intelligence (AI) which make fake claims about The King’s cancer diagnosis.

A Mail On Sunday investigation has found fake biographies are being offered for sale through the online retailer, Amazon.

The fake biographies, which are computer generated, make a number of false claims.

All the more concerning, they are listed for sale alongside genuine royal biographies.

In response to the Mail On Sunday’s report, a Buckingham Palace spokesperson said: “Any such titles speculating about His Majesty’s diagnosis and treatment are intrusive, insensitive and filled with inaccuracies.

“We call on any individuals or organisations facilitating their sale to withdraw them immediately.”

The spokesperson added that their legal team are looking into the issue.

An Amazon spokesman said it is investing ‘significant time and resources’ to ensure books followed its ‘content guidelines’.

They said: “We don’t allow AI-generated content that violates our content guidelines, including content that creates a disappointing customer experience.

“We have removed the titles we found that violated our guidelines.”
