Today marks the 25th Anniversary of the Death of Ann-Mari, Princess of Bismarck, who passed away on this day in 1999! The Swedish Socialite who married the Head of the House of Bismarck and was at the centre of European High Society for over seven decades, the Princess usually wore the magnificent Bismarck Tiara!

Soon after her marriage in 1928, the new Princess of Bismarck wore the Diamond Tiara for a portrait taken by Lafayette in London in full Court Dress.

Two years later, the Princess was pictured wearing the Diamond Tiara alongside the Freiherrr von Neurath during a Reception at the German Embassy in London in 1931.

The Princess of Bismarck also wore the Diamond Tiara with Court Dress for an official portrait taken in London in 1934, after having lively worn the Tiara for the Wedding of her step-sister, Margareta Fouché d’Otrante, to the Prince of Sayn-Wittgenstein-Berleburg.

Two years later, the Princess of Bismarck wore the Diamond Tiara for the Wedding of her brother, architect Anders Tengbom, in Sweden in 1936.

In 1952, the Princess of Bismarck wore her Diamond Tiara for the Wedding of her daughter, Countess Mari-Ann von Bismarck, and Egbert von Oswald at the Hamburg-Bergedorf Marienkirche.

The Princess of Bismarck continued to wear the Diamond Tiara through the 1960s and 1970s, including for the Wedding Ball of Princess Marie Louise of Prussia and Count Rudolf of Schönburg-Glauchau in 1971 as well as a Ball held exactly 50 years ago today, on the 22nd of September in 1974.

The Bismarck Family are rather private and while they have been seen in other Tiaras, this Diamond Tiara has not been publicly worn for years, though lets hope it makes an appearance again soon.
