King George VI, Queen Elizabeth and Princess Margaret attended the Coming-Out Ball for the Queen’s twin nieces, Mary and Patricia Bowes-Lyon, at Londonderry House on Park Lane on this day in 1949, 75 years ago.

Princess Margaret joined the King and Queen for the Coming-Out Ball of her twin nieces, Mary and Patricia Bowes-Lyon, daughters of Capt. The Hon. Michael Claude Hamilton Bowes-Lyon and Elizabeth Margaret Cator, at Londonderry House in London, which was the London Home of the Marquess of Londonderry. Mary and Patricia Bowes-Lyon became Ladies upon the accession of their brother as the 17th Earl of Strathmore and Kinghorne in 1972.
