THIS is the adorable moment a King’s Guard broke protocol to allow a delighted man to pet his horse.

The guards, who are sworn to protect the official entrance to St. James’s Palace and Buckingham Palace, are known to not move out of the way for anyone.

Heartwarming footage shows a young man approaching the guard and his horse for a picture.

The friendly man can be seen wanting to stroke the horse but was respectful of the rules and kept his distance.

What followed next was described as a “precious moment” where the King’s Guard let go of the rules for just a second.

Despite being famed for keeping still and silent, the soldier moves towards the man and helps to create the perfect picture.

When the young man realised what was happening, he was overwhelmed with excitement to be getting a closer look at the horse. 

The incredible video was captioned: “What A Kind and Priceless Moment by King’s Guard towards a special teen!

“Guard looked and saw the special man and moved the horse towards him and when the man was done and wanted to go, he repeated, “Bye Bye” to the guard. 

“What a precious moment to witness.”

Viewers were quick to take to the comment section and praised the interaciton.

One person wrote: “What a sweet young man. I loved watching his excitement. Thank you to the soldier for being so kind.”

While another wrote: “Thank you for sharing this moment! Thank you to the guard and for your kind heart toward the young man.

“You recognised his uniqueness and responded in such a compassionate way!

The King’s Guard are posted outside at Horse Guards Parade from 10am to 4pm each day.

lt comes as one little boy was left thrilled when the King’s Guard broke protocol to greet him at St James’ Palace.

Soldier-obsessed Frank incredibly earned a nod from the deadpan troops after watching them in awe as they marched in unison.

And in another heartwarming video, a carer was left in tears after a King’s Guard gave way to the rules to pose for a photo with a man with Down’s syndrome.
