In what might be the best day at work for her birthday week, The Duchess of Edinburgh spent her day with several pups in training- including a lovely Louis!

The Duchess of Edinburgh visited Dogs for Autism, a charity organisation in Hampshire that works to help train and provide dogs to autistic people of any age who would benefit from an assistance dog.

Sophie met volunteers and staff members who work with the dogs to train them and learned about the different training that they undergo. She was not limited to humans, though- she met several dogs like Buddy, Jack, and Finn who are currently being trained.

Her Royal Highness also met one very special puppy with a royal connection. Louis, a nine week old Cavalier King Charles Spaniel, took to the Duchess immediately, lavishing her in puppy kisses.

Volunteer coordinator and fundraising manager Laura McCreadie shared that Louis is named for Prince Louis because of the playful spirit they share.

The Duchess of Edinburgh celebrated her 60th birthday on Monday. The Royal Family released a new portrait of Her Royal Highness at her home, Bagshot Park, by artist Christina Ebenezer. She reportedly had a private birthday party on Monday for friends and family.
