Royal Ascot has long been known for royal fashion and jewel sightings. And for Ladies’ Day 2025, the Royal Family did not disappoint.
Queen Camilla chose a light grey day dress and white hat for Royal Ascot on Ladies Day. It provided the perfect base for one of the late Queen Elizabeth II’s favourite pieces of jewellery.
Queen Camilla wore the Jardine Star Brooch, a relatively late addition to Queen Elizabeth II’s royal jewellery box.
In the early 1980s, Lady Jardine left a diamond star brooch to Queen Elizabeth. The eight-pointed star brooch features a round diamond at the centre, surrounded by a circle of diamonds. There are eight collet diamonds punctuating the space between each point.
Elizabeth II often wore the brooch, including to Royal Ascot.
Queen Camilla also gave a nod to the Queen Mother by wearing one of her Cartier bracelets.
The Princess Royal also channelled her grandmother by wearing Cartier with her blue ensemble on Ladies Day.
Princess Anne wore the central element of the Queen Mother’s Cartier Pineflower Tiara. The original tiara featured emerald-cut aquamarines and diamonds set in platinum in a pineflower design.
The Princess Royal received the tiara as a wedding gift from her grandmother. Her alterations included removing the central element to be worn as a brooch.
