Meghan Markle has been accused of using her royal status to boost her brand, with one commentator claiming she is “monetising it left and right”.

Royal expert Kinsey Schofield made the remarks during an appearance on TalkTV with presenter Mike Graham. Referring to the Duchess of Sussex’s latest Instagram post – a glossy Father’s Day tribute to Prince Harry – Ms Schofield mocked its style and tone, calling it a “nice ooey gooey video”.

She also pointed out that while the post praised Prince Harry, there was no mention of Meghan’s own father, Thomas Markle. She said: “She’s taking that title and she’s monetising it left and right, from what, from restaurants to loose fruit spread.”

Commenting on the couple’s ongoing staff turnover and alleged leadership struggles, she added: “You can’t build an empire when you’re burning through your architects.”
