Sapphire and Gold Sautoir

Belonged to Queen Olga of Greece
A Sapphire and Gold Sautoir in 585 thousandths yellow gold necklace, the oval-shaped links decorated with twenty-four oval cabochon-shaped sapphires in bezel setting. Russian work, circa 1900.
The mother of HRH Prince George of Greece and Denmark was born Olga Romanova, Grand Duchess of Russia (1851-1926).
After her death in 1989, her jewels were inherited by Princess Eugenie’s three children, including Princess Tatiana Radziwiłł and the 3rd Duke of Castel Duino, and in 1999, the several jewels, including the Cartier Olive Wreath Tiara, Diamond Star Tiara, Cartier Pearl and Diamond Bandeau, and Art Deco Diamond Earrings were auctioned off at the Beaussant Lefèvre Auction House, while the the Castel Duino Sapphire Parure and Queen Olga’s Pearl Brooch were auctioned at Sothebys in 2010. Given these jewels are being sold at Beaussant Lefèvre again, it is likely that Princess Tatiana Radziwiłł is the seller.
