Prince William and Princess Kate issue heartfelt statement after tragedy in Liverpool | Royal | News


Prince William and Princess Kate have issued a heartfelt statement today after tragedy unfolded in Liverpool yesterday. Almost 50 people were injured on Monday after a car ploughed into Liverpool fans after a trophy parade in the city centre.

Police have arrested a 53-year-old white British man who they believe was driving the car down Water Street where the incident unfolded. Four people are believed to still be “very ill” in hospital with serious injuries.

The Prince and Princess of Wales have now released a statement that reads: “We are deeply saddened by the scenes in Liverpool yesterday. What should have been a joyful celebration ended with tragedy. Our thoughts are with those who were injured and to the first responders and emergency services on the ground. W & C.”
