Members of the Danish Royal Family joined Queen Margrethe II for a Dinner at Fredensborg Palace as she celebrated her 85th Birthday on the evening of April 16th, following a Concert by the Royal Life Guards Band and Princess Isabella’s 18th Birthday Gala at the Royal Theatre in Copenhagen the previous evening.
The Danish Royal Family celebrated Queen Margrethe II’s 85th Birthday with a Dinner at Fredensborg Palace, following that morning’s Concert by the Royal Life Guards Band.
Her Majesty Queen Margrethe celebrated her 85th birthday with a Dinner in the Dome at Fredensborg Castle. The table was covered with newly sprung branches and decorated with Easter eggs, which the Majesty himself has decorated over the years.
During dinner, Queen Margrethe was surprised by chorus performed by the Sankt Anne Girls Choir. For dessert, the birthday cake was carried in with lit candles, as it’s supposed to happen on a birthday, and the candles were blown out in accordance with tradition
Following this, the Pantomime Theatre performed excerpts from, among other things, the ballet Klods Hans, where the Queen herself has been a costume designer.

King Frederik X and Queen Mary led the extended Danish Royal Family as they joined Queen Margrethe II for a concert by the Royal Life Guards Band in the Inner Courtyard of Fredensborg Palace.
Earlier, two new official birthday portraits of Queen Margrethe (wearing her Diamond Daisy Brooch and Earrings) where released which were taken at Fredensborg Palace.
