The Danish Royal Court has shared new Official Portraits of Prince Joachim and Princess Marie of Denmark, which were taken ahead of the New Year’s Court (Nytårskur) and Banquet at Amalienborg on January 1st.
The new gala portraits of HRH Prince Joachim and Princess Marie were taken by photographer Les Kaner at Amalienborg on 1 January ahead of the New Year’s Banquet and will henceforth be included in the Royal House’s official image material.
It is a tradition that new official portraits of members of the Royal Family are produced at regular intervals. These portraits are used by the Royal House as well as by the organisations and institutions of which Prince Joachim and Princess Marie are patrons. In addition, the portraits will serve as official gifts from the Prince and Princess.
Prince Joachim wore Uniform with his medals, the Collar and Star of the Order of the Elephant and Neck Badge of the Order of the Dannebrog.
Princess Marie wore Princess Dagmar’s Diamond Floral Tiara, her Sapphire Earrings, and Queen Alexandrine’s Sapphire Brooch, with the Collar and Star of the Order of the Elephant and Queen Margrethe II’s Royal Family Order.
Prince Joachim and Princess Marie had joined King Frederik X and Queen Mary, Queen Margrethe II, Crown Prince Christian, and Princess Benedikte at the New Year’s Reception and Banquet for the Government, top Civil Servants and the Royal Court at Christian VII’s Palace, Amalienborg.
