Happy Birthday to Princess Claire of Luxembourg, who turns 40 today! The wealthy and highly educated German Heiress who is married to the second son of the world’s only Grand Duke, Princess Claire has worn some striking heirlooms from the Grand Ducal Vaults, as well as this mystery Ruby and Diamond Tiara and Parure!

The magnificent Ruby and Diamond Suite is composed of a substantial ruby and diamond necklace, a pair of ruby and diamond chandelier earrings and a ruby and diamond bracelet which has been converted into a Tiara, similar to the Aquamarine Tiara or the Citrine and Pearl Tiara in the Grand Ducal Vaults.
The exact origin of these jewels is unknown, and while it was once reputed to be a Wedding Gift from Princess Claire’s own wealthy family, it is more likely that this Ruby and Diamond Suite was a gift to the Grand Ducal Family from one of the Middle Eastern Royal Families, though it is not known which one.
Princess Claire notably wore the Ruby and Diamond Suite for her first National Day Gala at the Grand Ducal Palace in Luxembourg in 2015, which was its one and only appearance.
More recently, Princess Claire has worn the Grand Duchess Adélaïde Tiara for subsequent National Day Galas, so we wait for the Ruby and Diamond Suite to make a reappearance.
