Yesterday, Queen Camilla debuted a pair of Fabergé Imperial Impératrice Tassel Earrings on a visit to Middlesbrough, which are quite reminiscent of Queen Victoria’s 128 year-old Fabergé Diamond Jubilee Brooch that was worn by Queen Camilla to the late Queen’s Funeral.
Composed of Blue Sapphires and Diamonds set in White Gold, the Impératrice Sapphire Tassel Earrings, which cost £20,160, feature:
Round sapphire centre stones surrounded by white diamonds, with a tassel of sapphire beads, set in 18 karat white gold. This earring is 42.5mm in height and the stud is 10.3mm in length.
In a compelling mix of impeccable craftsmanship and the finest gemstones, the Fabergé Imperial collection celebrates rhythms of the seasons. Exceptional white diamond, pearl and coloured gemstone pieces demonstrate the superlative Fabergé hand artisanship.
Queen Camilla paired the Fabergé Earrings with her Sapphire and Diamond Moth Brooch and a Sapphire and Diamond Bee Brooch.
However, the design of the Earrings is quite reminiscent of Queen Victoria’s Hesse Diamond Jubilee Brooch, which was created by Fabergé in 1897 and has been in Queen Camilla’s possession for the past two decades, being most notably worn for the Funeral of Queen Elizabeth II in 2022. Let’s hope we see these Earrings worn with the Hesse Diamond Jubilee Brooch soon enough!
