Royal fans are in a frenzy today as Prince William has shared an insight into his upcoming Cape Town trip.
The Prince of Wales, 42, will be flying to South Africa to attend The Earthshot Prize 2024 in person on November 6.
The future King shared a video of past ceremonies and confirmed that each of the winners will receive a substantial sum of money to turn their solutions to repair the environment into real-life practices.
On the official Prince and Princess of Wales social media page, the prince wrote: “#EarthshotCapeTown, Coming Soon. On Wednesday 6 November, 15 extraordinary solutions to repair our planet will be celebrated at The Earthshot Prize 2024, live from South Africa.
“This year’s five winners will each be awarded £1 million to scale their solutions. Stream the show live on Earthshot YouTube and across @multichoice_group – we can’t wait to see you there!”
Since the post, royal fans have rushed to praise the prince and share their excitement over the visit.
Princess Kate is not expected to fly to Africa with her husband, and instead will stay home with their three children Prince George, 11, Princess Charlotte, 9, and Prince Louis, 6.
One royal fan commented on the social media post: “A few more days and the show in Cape Town begins!
“The world is changing and the world needs us! William does a lot about his projects and enchants people, like his mother Lady Diana did so many things. She is proud of you William!”
Another said: “Spectacular, can’t wait. Love Prince William.”
The future King was also praised for following in the footsteps of Prince Philip and the King, who were both passionate about protecting the environment.
One royal fan wrote on Instagram: “Great initiative! Keeping the great job of Prince Philip and King Charles III. This family is doing a wonderful job in protecting the environment. Thank you.”
Prince William has been taking a mini-break from royal engagements over the last few weeks to spend the October half-term with his family.
