Although Prince Harry no longer frequently sees his nieces and nephews, if at all, the duke was once very generous when it came to gifting them presents.

For Prince Louis’ christening, the youngest son of his brother Prince William, Harry tried to honour Diana’s love of first edition novels by buying one for his youngest nephew on his special day.

According to Daily Record, the prince spent £8,000 on a 1926 original edition of A A Milne’s Winnie the Pooh for Louis, a sign of how much he loves and cares for William’s children.

A close source to Harry reportedly said: “One of Harry’s happiest childhood memories was being read a bedtime story by his mother.

“She loved all the old classics and Harry had the brilliant idea of starting a little library of first editions for Louis, Charlotte and George to enjoy as they get older.

“He originally wanted to get Lewis Carroll’s Through The Looking Glass, which was on sale for £24,000, but decided Winnie-The-Pooh would be more suitable.

“Robinson Crusoe was William’s favourite book, but Harry loved all things A.A. Milne.”

The duke decided to buy an original copy of the book, which was one of just 30,000 copies released in 1926.
