Wedding of the Earl of Derby and Lady Isabel Milles-Lade, 1948

The Wedding of John Stanley, 18th Earl of Derby, son of Lord Stanley and the Hon. Sibyl Cadogan, and Lady Isabel Milles-Lade, daughter of the Hon. Henry Milles-Lade and sister of the Earl Sondes, at Westminster Abbey on this day in 1948, followed by a Reception at the Savoy Hotel. The Countess of Derby was the victim of a horrific attack in 1952 and the couple had no children, remaining married until her death in 1990, while the Earl passed away in 1994.

King George VI, Queen Elizabeth, Princess Elizabeth, Princess Margaret, Mary, Princess Royal and Countess of Harewood and Princess Marina, Duchess of Kent were among the guests in attendance.
