Wedding of the Duke of Devonshire, 1967

The Wedding of Peregrine Cavendish, Marquess of Hartington, son and Heir of the 11th Duke of Devonshire and the Hon. Deborah Mitford, and Amanda Heywood-Lonsdale (wearing the Devonshire Honeysuckle Tiara) at St  Martin-in-the-Fields in Trafalgar Square in London on this day in 1967. The couple have three children: the Earl of Burlington, Lady Celina, and Lady Jasmine, and ten grandchildren, and succeeded as the 12th Duke and Duchess of Devonshire in 2004.

Royal Guests included the Queen and Queen Mother, alongside the Duke and Duchess of Devonshire (wearing the Devonshire Palmette Tiara as Brooches) as well as the Dowager Duchess.

There was also a spectacular Gala hosted by the Duke and Duchess of Devonshire (wearing her Craven Brooch) at Chatsworth House, which was attended by the groom’s aunts, the legendary Mitford Sisters.
