Royal and Noble Guests and Relatives gathered from around Germany for the Wedding of Count Ludovic von Neipperg and Countess Hélène von Waldburg-Zeil und Trauchburg at Schloss Zeil  on November 30th.

Count Ludovic von Neipperg, son of Count Stephan-Christoph von Neipperg and Baroness Sigweis von Stotzingen, married Countess Hélène von Waldburg-Zeil und Trauchburg, the fourth of five daughters of Prince von Waldburg zu Zeil und Trauchburg and Duchess Mathilde of Württemberg, in the Schlosskirche at Schloss Zeil.

Countess Hélène wore the magnificent Waldburg-Zeil Tiara.

A striking Diamond Tiara with a large central pink diamond or topaz, it is likely an old Family Heirloom which was notably worn when Princess Marie Gabrielle of Bavaria married Fürst Georg von Waldburg zu Zeil und Trauchburg in 1957.

The Prince and Princess Waldburg zu Zeil und Trauchburg acquired the original Cambridge Lover’s Knot Tiara and when their son, Hereditary Count Erich of Waldburg zu Zeil and Trauchburg, married Duchess Mathilde of Württemberg in 1988, the bride wore the Württemberg Bridal Diadem and a Diamond Necklace Tiara also from the Württemberg Family.

The Hereditary Countess Mathilde wore the Waldburg-Zeil Tiara along with an accompanying Diamond Necklace and Earrings for the Wedding Ball of her brother, Duke Philipp of Württemberg, and her husband’s cousin, Duchess Marie-Caroline in Bavaria, at Schloss Nymphenburg in 1991.

Two years later, Hereditary Countess Mathilde also wore the Waldburg-Zeil Tiara for the Wedding Ball of her brother, Duke Friedrich of Württemberg, and Princess Marie of Wied at Schloss Altshausen in 1993.

Most recently, the Waldburg-Zeil Tiara was worn by Countess Maria Gabriele Von Waldburg-Zeil und Trauchburg for her Wedding to Count Bernard de Monseignat in 2004.

Duchess Mathilde, the current Princess von Waldburg zu Zeil und Trauchburg wore the Cambridge Lover’s Knot Tiara at the Wedding Ball of her niece, Duchess Sophie von Württemberg, and Count Maximilien d’Andigné at Schloss Tegernsee in 2018. Earlier this year, the Prince and Princess’ fourth daughter, Countess Helene von Waldburg zu Zeil und Trauchburg, announced her engagement to Count Ludovic von Neipperg, and there is little doubt that the bride will wear the Waldburg-Zeil Tiara at the Wedding.

As expected, Countess Helene von Waldburg zu Zeil und Trauchburg wore the Tiara for her Wedding to Count Ludovic von Neipperg in November 2024.
