Time of Coronation revealed as new details of ceremony announced – Royal Central

The Coronation will take place on the morning of May 6 2023.

Buckingham Palace has confirmed that the solemn ceremony will begin at 11am at Westminster Abbey.

King Charles III and Queen Camilla will travel to the Abbey before that in the Diamond Jubilee State Coach on a route that will take them along the Mall, Whitehall and through Westminster.

Following the service, in which Their Majesties will be crowned by the Archbishop of Canterbury, the Coronation Procession will convey them and members of the Royal Family back to Buckingham Palace.

The newly crowned King Charles and Queen Camilla will travel in the Gold State Coach. The Coronation Procession will also include members of the Armed Forces of the United Kingdom, the Commonwealth and British Overseas Territories as well as The Sovereign’s Bodyguard and Royal Watermen.

At the Palace, there will be a Royal Salute from the Armed Forces of the UK and the Commonwealth which will be followed by three cheers for King Charles and Queen Camilla.

The Royal Family is expected to appear on the balcony of the Palace to conclude the celebrations on Coronation Day.
