Queen Mary of Denmark wore a brand new tiara that she worked with jewellers to create from existing pieces in the Danish Crown Jewels.

The Danish queen wore the Rose Stone Tiara, a bandeau made of rose-cut diamonds, for the State Banquet given in honour of the President of Egypt.

Along with King Frederik, she welcomed Egyptian President Abdel Farrah el-Sisi for a State Visit on December 6th and hosted the State Banquet at Christiansborg Palace that evening.

The Danish Queen used an existing piece from the Rose Stone Set to create this simple but striking tiara. Mary wore her hair in a sleek, low chignon to keep full attention on the brand new diadem.

Earlier in the week, the Danish royals had shared details of how the piece was made in a behind the scenes glimpse on social media.

Princess Marie, wife of Prince Joachim, wore Princess Dagmar’s Diamond Floral Tiara. The tiara features two small and three large flowers of diamonds and originally belonged to Princess Dagmar, great-great-aunt to the current King.

Princess Benedikte, younger sister of Queen Margrethe, wore the Sayn-Wittgenstein-Berleburg Fringe Tiara. This beautiful kokoshnik-style tiara was created by German jeweller Koch in 1905.
