The Prince and Princess of Wales named to TIME100 Philanthropy 2025 list

TIME magazine has named the Prince and Princess of Wales to the TIME100 Philanthropy 2025 to honour their new approach to royal philanthropy.

Announced on 20 May, Time has shared this year’s list of “the 100 most influential people shaping the future of giving at a pivotal moment”.

William and Catherine were included in the Innovators category on the list for their new and innovative approach to philanthropy, including the causes that they support and the ways that they help.

Reporter Harry Booth noted, “Prince William and Catherine, Princess of Wales, are less concerned with cultural preservation and more attuned to social issues, tackling homelessness and rural mental health through their Royal Foundation and spotlight innovative solutions to climate change through the Earthshot Prize”.

The Prince and Princess of Wales originally made some waves when it became clear that they were approaching philanthropy in a different way from previous royal generations.  They choose major subjects and put an intense focus on them with Prince William’s ongoing work to tackle homelessness a key example.

The Princess of Wales has largely focused on early years education and support, while the Prince of Wales spends much of his time working on environmental causes. Together through their Royal Foundation, they are providing support to many mental health-related causes for several different populations and groups.
